My Son, the Fetishist

My son has a fetish. It's a really odd one and I do hold on to hope that someday he will outgrow it or at least move it on to someone other than myself.

My soon to be 5 year old loves to play with my belly. He rubs it to calm himself down. He prefers to have "hand to belly contact" when he tries to fall asleep. One night I flipped over onto my stomach while he was sleeping next to me and he said (while sleepingish) "NO. BELLY!" I thought my husband was going to wet the bed.

My son says he likes it because it's "floppily". I try to tell myself that he likes it because he has a feeling of connection due to having lived in there for 9 mos. Really though I think he's right. It is "floppily".

At least he doesn't suck his thumb or smoke crack. Those are some hard habits to kick.

That's awful sweet. I get jealous of the moms who's kids wind their hands into their mom's hair and play with it. My kids just fight for the squishie-boobie pillow. Which hurts when it comes to the elbows and knees as the fighting gets rough.

I'm sure by the time he's 18 he'll have transfered his belly fettish to some lucky girl.

As fettishes go at least it's legal.

My kids like to put their fingers in my ears. They think it's funny I guess because it's kind of annoying ;)

    Floppily hehehe that's funny.

    Ha! That's funny!

My daughter used to softly pinch the skin under my chin. If I wasn't available she'd do that to her own skin.

Oh, I have one of those floppily bellies too. I lovingly call it my baby belly and hope to offer it up on the altar of plastic surgery someday...
Oh, by the way, you've been tagged for the 10 Things You don't know About Me meme! Have fun!

I swear I commented on this earlier. And don't comment on the time either. Yes, I'm a douchebag.

I remember seeing "belly" in action. I thought it was sweet. I was hella glad that it was your kid and not mine, because I can't stand my jiggle being played with. But then again, we've already come to the conclusion that you are a much better mother than I am.

Did I mention I'm not even a little sad about signing youngest spawn up for Kindy tomorrow? (actually it's today, because I can't seem to make myself go to bed!!)

That's really sweet. And unlike thumb-sucking, it won't cost you big time orthodontics bills later on!

Hahahaha. When I was about that age, I was insanely fascinated with my mother's boobs. I used to poke them all the time. She would get so creeped out/ annoyed with me. I outgrew that within about a year, I believe.

My little brother, on the other hand, had this thing where he would pull of pieces of his diaper and rub them under his nose and above his upper lip whilst sucking his thumb. After being potty trained, he would pull of pieces of plasic bags and store them under his pillow. My mom gave me the lovely task of surreptiously collecting them. Sometimes he would catch me in the act and scream, "MY DIAPERS!!!! NOOOO!!!
He's now nearly 16 and to this day I occasionally find pieces of plasic bags in his room when I go visit.

    -shrugs-

That is so cute! Today, I heard someone say that their 4 year old has to fall alseep with his hand in his Mom's shirt. Not trying to get to the boob, just sorta tucked up in there. :)

I wish my kids were still little!

Well, The Kid went through a phase that all he wanted to do was poke people's belly buttons. Like, random people at the store. Tell you one thing, it's very creepy when a toddler walks up to you and starts lifting up your shirt....

ok I have to admit that some of these comments have made me laugh so hard, my hubby brought me a drink because he was worried I would choke..lol. And trust me, when your kids are teenagers and barely wanna be seen in public with you...you will miss the "belly times"..lmao.

I guess that's better as a fetish than pooping in the yard.

Oh wow thank you for this post. My son, who is three, is obsessed with rubbing the noses of people he likes. It calms him or something. When he wakes up, or if he's tired... if he's upset... if he missed you... if he's just really happy... he rubs your nose. I was beginning to think he was showing signs of OCD! LOL
